A narrative from 1825
This is a typed transcription of a narrative given on April 8, 1825 by Asa Averill, who was 85 years old at the time. The narrative was recorded by the Reverend Elisha D. Andrews, who stated that Mr. Averill was “in the perfect possession of all his faculties”.
Included is a plan of the Fort that was built in 1755 on the Great Meadows, Putney VT. The plan includes the names of the families that occupied the Fort.
