The Putney Historical Society invites General Contractors to bid on construction of the new Putney General Store located at 4 Kimball Hill Road in Putney, VT. The historic former store was destroyed by fire in 2009.
Work includes but is not limited to; limited site work, water and sewer hookup work, asphalt paving, landscaping, concrete work, limited structural steel work, rough and finish carpentry, roof trusses, insulation and weatherization, roofing, new windows, new doors, drywall work, painting, resilient flooring, bath and accessories, plumbing, heating, and electrical work.
This project is funded by Vermont Housing and Conservation Board, Vermont Community Development Program and a Village Revitalization Initiative grant (a partnership of Senator Patrick Leahy and the Preservation Trust of Vermont funded through a special purpose federal grant secured by Senator Leahy). This is an E.E.O. project (Equal Employment Opportunity) project and is subject to Davis-Bacon Wage Guidelines for commercial construction in Windham County, Vermont. Locally-owned, Women-owned, Minority-owned, and Section 3 businesses are encouraged to apply.
Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 P.M., Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the offices of Stevens & Associates in Brattleboro, VT. Bid Documents will be available for pick-up and review on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Blueprints, Etc. in South Burlington, VT. A non-refundable deposit amount of $100 made out to “Blueprints, Etc.” is required. Deposit includes regular UPS ground shipping cost.
There will be ONE recommended site visit at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 19, 2010. Subcontractors are encouraged to attend this site visit.
The Contract shall be awarded to one of the three lowest responsible bidders, conforming to the drawings and specifications, with consideration being given to bidder qualifications as outlined in bidding documents.
