 The Putney Historical Society will hold its Annual Meeting on Sunday    January 10th 2016 at 6:00 pm with a public program on “Strong Women of Putney.” The meeting will be held in the newly renovated  and fully accessible Next Stage, home of the Putney Historical Society and Next Stage Arts at 15 Kimball Hill in Putney. There will be a potluck dinner at 6:00 and the program will begin at 6:45. Please bring something to share for the potluck. After the dinner, there will be a brief business meeting followed by the “Strong Women of Putney” program starting at 6:45 in the newly renovated second floor theater. We will be celebrating four women from Putney’s past who accomplished great things for the town and beyond: Inez Harlow, Dr. Laura Plantz, Alice Holway, and Mary Corser Thwing. Photos, memories, written history and some audio interviews will all be used. The event will be accompanied by an exhibit of historic photos from our collection including many by photographer Mary Thwing, and printed by Geordie Heller. Come with memories of your favorite strong women of Putney to share! Event is free and open to the public.
